Datum Filing Systems has been designing and manufacturing filing, storage and office furniture solutions for 40 years. Founded on Long Island New York by Frank Potter, Datum is still owned and operated by the Potter family.

Thanks to customer loyalty and a commitment to quality, Datum outgrew its original facility and moved to York, Pennsylvania in 1992 to a 40,000 square foot plant. In 2001, the company built a brand new 120,000 square foot facility to accommodate continued success fueled by the addition of new product lines.

Datum dealers and sales representatives across America offer Datum products in addition to planning, moving and installation services. Dedicated to quality, every product - from our high density file systems to our A/V carts - is backed by a lifetime warranty.

A brief history of Datum

Started in 1968 in the basement of Frank Potter's Long Island home, Datum was originally the Desk Top Filing Company. Then, the name was changed to Filing Systems Inc. In, 1983 the name was changed again to the current name.
