York County Archives Expands with Datum MobileTrak5® System


The York County Archives in York County, Pennsylvania were relocating their expansive collection from the County Courthouse to a recently-renovated storage building. The collection included an impressive volume of multiple types of media. Seeking to maximize capacity in the new building, they turned to Datum Filing Systems.

Datum Solution

Datum created a special MobileTrak5® System with 4Post™ Shelving, which gives YCA the flexibility to store multiple types of media within a single system. Although some of the 60-plus carriages measure more than thirty feet long, the mechanical assist MobileTrak5® allows them to be moved with a simple turn of the handle. Although they are large, YCA saved money and fully used their space by using longer carriages, as opposed to two 15’ carriages.

Result

The MobileTrak5® System allowed the Archives to store their collection in the new building, as well as accommodate future growth.
