Client: Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine
Systems installed:
TekStak™
The school sought out Datum's help to design a custom system to transfer these medical records to their students, while still keeping a secure and confidential environment. Datum decided that one of their current products would do the job nicely, with a few adjustments.
Datum redesigned the TekStak™, currently a computer security product, and created the ThruStak™. This stack of individual compartments was backless, allowing for the file room to be enclosed behind them. This way, the workers in the file room could put the students' confidential patient records into their personal lockers from inside the file room. The students could then access their files through the front of the ThruStak™ using their key.
The file room, now surrounded by ceiling high ThruStaks™, became a much more organized file transfer room. The ThruStaks™ design made it simple for the workers in the file room to put the patient records into the correct lockers for the students to pick up later.
Students coming to the file room needed only to get out their key, unlock their locker, and retrieve their files. The drop down door design took up less space to open than their previous system's side opening doors, allowing for multiple students to access their lockers side by side.
