Graphcom Commercial Printer Saves Time, Space and Money with TrakSlider™ System
Graphcom Incorporated, a commercial printer in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, was looking to create space for a new printing press. However, they discovered there was no room on the printing floor, due to their bulky, homemade filing system. The system was even located on an entirely different floor than the employees who needed to access the files. After weighing the options of renting offsite storage space or expanding their building, they turned to Datum for an alternative.

Datum Solution
Taking into consideration the storage needs of each department, Datum utilized both stationary shelving and a MobileTrak5® System with 4Post™ Shelving to meet those individual needs. Since the municipalities wanted to keep their existing top-tab files, Datum added rollout drawers that converted the 4Post™ Shelving—designed for end-tab files—into drawers for top-tab files. Datum also added EZ Roller shelves to house the municipalities’ large ledger books.
Result
Although consolidating the records of separate municipalities seemed like a problem, the new system easily and efficiently combined multiple file collections into one. The municipalities were able to save both money and time by keeping their top-tab file system. Additionally, the new system allowed the municipalities to better organize their new space.
