Client: PennDOT Materials Testing Facility
Systems installed:
4Post
Mail Master
MobileTrak5®
Stak-N-Lok
Datum installed multiple MobileTrak5® Systems, equipped with 4Post and Stak-N-Lok shelving to house multiple medias from multiple departments. Some of the 4Post units were equipped with hanging folder drawers to accommodate the company's top tab files, which they did not want to convert to end tab.
The systems were painted and end panels chosen to blend well with the building's existing furniture, creating a seamless look.
PennDOT also chose to utilize several mail sorting stations from the Mail Master product line. This helped to centralize mail for specific areas of the building and help keep the mail stations organized.
The versatility of the shelving allowed PennDOT to store and organize an array of medias for several departments in one system, in a centralized location. This made for faster retrieval times and better organization. The mobile system saved PennDOT from incurring extra constructions costs by consolidating their filing and freeing up valuable floor space for much needed work stations.
The ability to keep their current top tab filing saved the company time and money in conversion services.
Because the building was so large, one central mail room wasn't ideal. The individual mail sorting stations in different areas of the building helped to centralize and organize the mail for employees, eliminated wasted space and time retrieving mail.
