The ThruStak System is built right into the wall of the chart room, maximizing space and providing easy access to both students and staff.

The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine joined efforts with Datum to update their record storage system that was anything but user-friendly. Students used to file their confidential patient records in small lockers that lacked security and organization. By customizing an existing product, Datum created a whole new system that is tailored to meet the dental school’s exact needs.

The ThruStak™, a modified version of the TekStak™ storage system provided the perfect solution:

  • A secure way for students to transfer patient files to and from the main file room
  • Over 500 openings with individual locking doors on the outside for student access
  • A locker for each student, custom built to house the oversized folders of patient records
  • An open-back design that allows for easy file sorting by the chart room staff
  • Doors that open from top to bottom, allowing for easier access and reduced wear and tear
  • A drop down door that conserves space when opened so multiple students can access lockers side by side

The Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine now has a locker room that any student would be excited to use. Most importantly, the ThruStak™ system allows dental students the opportunity to train in a facility where organization, security and efficiency are both taught and practiced!
